Lessons are usually one hour long, once per week, and are available in Kyoto or at another place as well.
It is my great joy to keep this music alive by passing it on to my students-thus continuing the centuries old tradition of the shakuhachi. I invite you to learn these precious forms of shakuhachi music.
I specialize in the unique styles of honkyoku music which were mostly composed by the komuso monks during the Edo period, but I also teach sankyoku ensemble music for shakuhachi, koto, and shamisen.
